We are seeking a detail-oriented, thorough, and organized person with a sincere passion for supporting holistic ecosystems of communities working with psychedelic plants, mushrooms, and medicine allies to become our first Treasurer.
As Treasurer of The Mycoalition you’ll deliberate, vote, and guide the organization to help make sure we achieve our mission, remain in integrity, and co-create a holistic and effective ecosystem.

You Have:
- An undergraduate degree, master’s degree, and/or significant experience in finance, accounting, or another relevant field
- Significant experience as a treasurer or other financial leadership roles
- Strong working knowledge of financial legislation, regulations, and best practices
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and financial management software (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
- Aptitude for numbers, data, and mathematics
- Commitment to a high degree of accuracy
- Commitment to consistent, effective, prompt communication
- Commitment to the organization’s mission and strategic directions
- An understanding of, and experience with, good financial management and reporting practices
- A professional accounting designation may be required
- An understanding of the kind and level of financial information needed at a board level to support decision making
- An ability to commit to the time required to fulfill the responsibilities described (5-10 hrs monthly)
- A deep passion for the psychedelic movement, healing/transformative justice, and supporting a future with psychedelics that’s rooted in people power and ecological justice
Your Responsibilities:
- Offer guidance to the Executive Director, financial officers, and board in ensuring good
fiscal planning and decision-making
- Conduct regular risk management assessments
- Conceive, implement, and oversee cash management procedures
- Help develop financing/fundraising strategies
- Generate organizational and departmental budgets and monitor spending
- Implement effective financial policies
- File reports for current standing and forecasting
- Conduct regular audits on organizational-wide finances
- Chair the finance committee
- Assist in preparation of budgets
- Make financial information easily available to the Board and the public
